PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE TO THE MEMBERSHIP
Thank you for another year of continued dedication to Michigan 4-H. As the youth-serving program of Michigan State University Extension, 4-H is the only youth development organization that is based on experiential learning and backed by the research of our nation’s land-grant universities.
The Michigan 4-H Foundation was established in 1952 as a nonprofit organization to support Michigan 4-H Youth Development programs to prepare youth for meaningful and productive lives.
The past few years have brought a number of tough decisions before the board of trustees. Whether changes to the foundation’s staffing structure, the pandemic, or the sale of Kettunen Center, the board of trustees has been busy navigating complex situations. Now we, as a board, are ready to focus on our mission and vision to effectively support 4-H programs, opportunities and guidance so that all Michigan 4-H youth gain the skills they need today and tomorrow.
But we cannot do this work alone. It is private support from each of you that helps the foundation live up to this important mission and vision. Michigan 4-H grows each year thanks to your continued commitment to the program.
On behalf of the board of trustees, I want to thank you for investing in 4-H and helping Michigan 4-H to grow today’s young people into tomorrow’s leaders.
Yours in 4-H,
Thomas L. Bosserd, President
Michigan 4-H Foundation
