The Indoor Michigan 4-H Children’s Garden needs your help!

During Michigan’s cold snap in January, the hot water heating system that maintains the room temperature around 70 degrees failed for the greenhouses – and the Indoor Michigan 4-H Children’s Gardens. This happened over a weekend and when staff arrived Monday morning the rooms were around 18 degrees. Hundreds of plants were lost, including all of the plants in the Indoor Michigan 4-H Children’s Garden (as shown in the images above), located within the MSU Plant and Soil Sciences Building greenhouses.

Garden staff have been working diligently on a plan to ensure that the spring field trips and Butterflies in the Garden programs are still able to take place in the Indoor 4-H Children’s Garden.

Will you help make sure funding is available for this year’s spring and summer programs in the 4-H Children’s Gardens?

Please consider a gift to the Michigan 4-H Children’s Gardens today. Our spring programs will soon be here – please help by making a donation today. Educational programming, garden upkeep, and innovations are all made possible by private gifts, from donors like you, to the Michigan 4-H Foundation to support the gardens.
