George Hazle and his wife, Shirley, own and operate Golden Knob Dairy Farm. Hazle has been involved with the dairy industry his entire life and has served on many dairy and agricultural boards and has shared his knowledge to enhance the industry. He has been a Clinton County 4-H leader for 57 years, has served on the Clinton County 4-H Dairy Council and has been very involved with the State 4-H Dairy Program. Hazle has played a significant role in the development of the Clinton County 4-H dairy program and the enhancement of the fair. He served as president and vice president of the Clinton County Fair board. He currently serves as president of the Michigan Brown Swiss Association, is a member of the Michigan Milk Producers Association and has served as chair of the district and local MMPA. Additionally, he has been a member of the National Holstein Association since 1949. Hazle and his wife were honored by the Michigan Dairy Memorial and Scholarship Foundation in 2007. He also received the NAAB Quarter Century Award for devoted service to livestock improvement and the 1979 Technician of the Year award from the Michigan Animal Breeder Co-op.
