To truly make a difference while also making a tax-free donation, Michigan 4-H alumni Floyd and Judy Englehardt decided to make an IRA charitable rollover gift to the Michigan 4-H Foundation, also referred to as a qualified charitable distribution (QCD).

Retired MSU professor and longtime Michigan 4-H Children’s Gardens donor and volunteer Linda Nelson, Ph.D., left an estate gift to support the Michigan 4-H Children’s Gardens.

For the 2022-23 program year, the Michigan 4-H Foundation awarded 4-H mini-grants totaling just under $8,000.

For the 2022-23 program year, the Michigan 4-H Foundation funded sponsorships for 20 statewide 4-H learning experiences totaling $95,503.

One of the country’s largest multi-day 4-H events, 4-H Exploration Days returned for its 51st year in June 2022. A new endowment created by Donald and Linda Eppelheimer will provide 4-H Exploration Days with perpetual funding for years to come.

Julie Chapin, of Portland, was re-elected to a two-year term as secretary of the Michigan 4-H Foundation board of trustees at its fall board meeting Oct. 7.

Melissa Humphrey, of Fowler, was re-elected to a two-year term as treasurer of the Michigan 4-H Foundation board of trustees at its fall board meeting Oct. 7.

Thomas L. Bosserd, of Plymouth, was elected president of the Michigan 4-H Foundation board of trustees at its fall board meeting Oct. 7.

Pamala R. Babbitt and Cheryl D. Howell were elected as Michigan 4-H Foundation trustee emerita and honorary trustee, respectively.

Andrew Walker, of Saginaw, was elected vice president of the Michigan 4-H Foundation board of trustees at its fall board meeting Oct. 7.
