Its just seeing kids learn about all the possibilities out there in this world. That agriculture isnt just cows and plows but a vast field of opportunities. The best example of that are my own two girls.
Jim Williams of Clare County is the first winner of the Michigan Farm Bureau 4-H Excellence in Agriculture Award. Not only has Jim been Clare County’s Millennium Showmen 4-H Club leader for the last 8 years but he was also recognized at the 2008 Agriculture and Natural Resources Week at Michigan State University. Williams is an educated teacher and trusted source of information when it comes to exhibiting livestock and meeting industry standards. Not only that, but he leads his club as volunteers to pick up trash as part of the state’s Adopt-A-Highway program and collecting school supplies for the Department of Human Service.
Through 4-H I have learned so many things that can help me build my confidence. I went from feeling insecure about my disability to being able to tell other kids who have dyslexia that even if it is difficult, you shouldn\'t feel embarrassed about it. Since joining 4-H I can share my experience with dyslexia and help people understand the disability.
