Title: Owner/Operator, Strautz Holsteins

“Sharing and working as a group is what we do 4-H for. It really doesn’t matter if you win. I learned that if I’ve done the best that I can do and I know I’ve done my best, and if I had a little fun along the way, that’s what 4-H is all about. That’s what I learned and what I teach my kids today!”

Strautz Holsteins, co-owned and operated by Pasty Strautz, is a 40-head dairy operation that has garnered national, state and local honors for its registered Holsteins. When not raising and milking dairy cows, Strautz is working with young people in her community as a 4-H leader. For 24 years she has supported youth education and leadership in dairy farming and related animal science topics. She has served on the county 4-H Council and was active with the Montcalm County 4-H Fair cafeteria for several years. She and her family have also been very active with local rural education days, donating the use of animals and sharing their knowledge about farming and agriculture. Strautz is a member of the Michigan and Montcalm County Farm Bureaus, the Dairy Farmers of America and the Dairy Herd Improvement Association. In addition to her volunteerism and support of 4-H, she supports Mothers Against Drunk Driving and the Police Officers Association.
