“I firmly believe pre-teen activities shape your future. 4-H projects [provide] a learning, helpful, supporting educational experience. 4-H helped me and through 4-H I was able to help others.”
As general manager and vice-president for marketing of The Andersons, Inc., Monroe County 4-H alumnus William A. Dodds is accountable for all merchandising and operations of 10 facilities in Ohio, Michigan, Illinois and Indiana that generate more than $500 million in grain sales annually. He is a member of the Chicago Board of Trade, the National Grain and Feed Association, the National Corn Growers Association, the National Grain Trade Council and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s Agriculture Advisory Committee in Washington, D.C. Dodds has proven equally committed to his community and his personal affiliations. He has been past president of the MSU Alumni Association and the Monroe County 4-H Council. Because of 4-H, I get to travel to places I may not otherwise visit. In our travel club, we visit different places, see new sites, experience different ways to travel, and learn about new cultures. Because of 4-H, I got a passport!
