Pam Babbitt joined the Michigan 4-H Foundation’s Board of Trustees in 1985 after serving as a member of the Muskegon County 4-H Council for many years having been a local 4-H volunteer and having raised her children as 4-H members. For almost 30 years, she has committed time and personal resources to advancing the mission of 4-H Youth Development programs at both the state and county level. As a foundation trustee, Pam has served as president, vice president, treasurer and immediate past president and has led the board’s personnel committee for many years. As president from 2000-2002, Pam led the foundation’s centennial celebration activities which included launch of the Campaign for 4-H which resulted in $10.3 million in private investments for support of Michigan 4-H. Her personal philanthropy has supported the entry way road paving and the creation or renovation of rooms in Birch, Cedar and Red Oak Lodges at Kettunen Center. Her passion for the mission of this facility was evidenced by her most recent gift to underwrite the creation of the architectural vision for the future of Kettunen Center so that it may continue to serve as the place and space for 4-H volunteer development. She has also believed in personally addressing any major emerging need faced by the foundation and often makes critical investments to benefit the continued sound operations of the Michigan 4-H Foundation. Pam has invested personal time, talent, wealth and resources to ensuring that Michigan 4-H is well positioned to continue to help young people see and make the best better.
