A Michigan 4-H Foundation trustee since 2016, Bosserd served as the Foundation president from 2022-
2024 and now is the immediate past president. He is a Calhoun County 4-H alumnus and was raised on
a dairy farm near Marshall, Mich. Bosserd chaired the foundation’s Facilities Committee from 2017-2022,
serves on the Finance Committee and provided leadership to the sale of Kettunen Center.
Bosserd began his own rural property appraisal business in 2001 and retired from that business in 2021. He also represented Halderman Farm Management and Real Estate Services in Michigan from 2001 to 2022 as a farm manager and farm real estate agent. Bosserd still occasionally assists Halderman with real estate work. He previously worked as a loan officer and appraiser for GreenStone Farm Credit Services for 20 years. He has been a certified general appraiser in Michigan since 1994, and a licensed real estate salesperson since 2002. Bosserd was a member of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers and twice served as president of the Michigan Chapter. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the Michigan State University College of Business and an M.B.A. degree from Eastern Michigan University. Since retirement, Bosserd has been more actively volunteering at Manna Meals Soup Kitchen in Detroit and at his church, and currently serves on his homeowner association.
