Rhonda Coon was an active 4-H member in Iowa for 10 years capping her years as a State 4-H Officer
in 1973-74. After earning a degree from Iowa State University, she was the county 4-H youth agent in
Plymouth County, Iowa. She also served as the executive director of the Iowa 4-H Foundation from
1984-87. With more than 25 years in development, alumni relations and event management, Rhonda is
an independent fundraising professional. Her previous roles include fundraising for WKAR Radio and
Television, alumni director for the MSU College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR), and fund-
raising for the MSU’s Annual Giving program. The past few years she has supported her husband, Tom, in
his position with Oklahoma State University.
Rhonda’s passion for 4-H runs very deep as she has continued interest and involvement in the program
through judging educational presentations, musical competitions and attending award programs and
banquets with her husband.
Rhonda and Tom have been donors to 4-H in Iowa, Michigan and Oklahoma. During the Michigan 4-H
Foundation’s previous capital campaign, Rhonda and Tom joined nine other couples as members of
the Leadership 10. They were also leadership donors to the County 4-H Endowment match pool which
helped to build and grow 4-H endowments in 31 counties across the state.
