Julie Becker has been a Gratiot County 4-H member since 2011. She has served as president of the Circle
B 4-H Club and the Gratiot County 4-H Exchange Club. She also served as a teen representative on the
Gratiot County 4-H Leaders Council. She has participated in a variety of 4-H project areas including
swine, goats, rabbits, food, photography and sewing. Through her 4-H experiences, Julie has taken on a
variety of leadership roles. She has organized a showmanship clinic; planned and facilitated a swine day
for local youth to learn about the swine industry; and she has directed a science fair during the Gratiot
County Fair for Youth for two years. Additionally, she has participated in statewide 4-H events such as
4-H Exploration Days and the 4 H Livestock Judging Contest. She also was a 2021 Michigan delegate to
the National 4-H Congress in Atlanta.
Julie has been honored for her 4-H achievement with the Gratiot County 4-H Swine Award (2x),
Achievement Award, Goat Science Award, and the Civic Engagement Award. She also served as the
2023 Gratiot County Fair for Youth Senior Queen and 2024 Alma Highland Festival Queen of Scots.
Julie graduated from Breckenridge High School in May 2023 where she was a member of the Student
Council and served as class treasurer and spirit leader. She was also active in the Breckenridge FFA
Chapter with leadership roles as Chapter Historian and Chapter Representative. She also received various FFA awards including Greenhand Degree 2019, Chapter Degree 2020, Outstanding Junior 2021-
2022, and State Degree 2022-2023.
Currently, Julie is a sophomore at Michigan State University studying animal science with a minor in agri-
business management. She was a charter member of the MSU 4-H Collegiate 4-H Club which officially
launched in fall 2023 and currently serves as the club vice president. She is also the membership coordinator for the MSU Block and Bridle Club and a member of the Sigma Alpha Sorority.
